Weather in Costa Brava for a Wedding

The best months for a wedding in Costa Brava are June, July, and September. June and July are warm (24-27 degrees C) with minimal rainfall and long light evenings. September is exceptional - summer visitors depart, temperatures stay around 23 degrees C, and the hilltop villages and coastal settings feel intimate and unhurried. May is also excellent for couples who want spring flowers and a quiet countryside.

September is one of the finest months for a wedding in Costa Brava. The French and Barcelona summer tourists have gone, temperatures stay warm at around 23 degrees C, the sea is still swimable, and the Emporda countryside is golden and beautiful. Venues in the medieval villages - Pals, Peratallada, Ullastret - open up with better availability, and the quality of light in September is outstanding for photography.

Costa Brava has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters. The wedding season typically runs May through October. July averages 27 degrees C with very little rain. September and October are warm (23 and 18 degrees C respectively) and increasingly popular for their relaxed atmosphere. Spring (April-May) is mild and green, with wildflowers covering the cork forests and coastal paths.

Costa Brava is 90 minutes to 2 hours by car from Barcelona El Prat airport, and about 45-60 minutes from Girona airport (GRO), which has good European connections.
