Alisa works both behind the camera and behind the story. She develops concepts and narrative ideas, communicates with the couple and their wedding planner, and helps understand the people, relationships and details that might eventually become part of the film. On the wedding day, she becomes quiet. Alisa moves through the day almost unnoticed, watching rather than directing. She waits for things to happen instead of constantly trying to create them. What interests her most is what happens inside the wedding day — conversations between guests, nervous hands, glances across the table, someone disappearing from the party for a minute, parents watching from a distance, and all the small stories happening between the moments everyone expects to be filmed. Unlike Sam, who is often drawn towards composition, movement and more constructed cinematic images, Alisa looks for the life happening in between. Together, these two perspectives allow the same wedding film to feel cinematic without losing what was real.

Alisa has a deeply romantic way of looking at ordinary life. Not romantic in the sense of making everything beautiful or perfect. She simply tends to notice the cinematic quality of things that would otherwise pass unnoticed — movement, light through a window, people talking around a table, a dress moving in the wind or a quiet look between two people. That curiosity follows her outside weddings too. She rides her bike, loves analogue photography and film, and is particularly drawn to Kodak Ektachrome — its colour, texture and slightly imperfect feeling. For her, beauty rarely comes from perfection. It comes from something feeling alive.

Euphoria, Big Little Lies and Yellowstone are among Alisa’s favourite series. Not because they belong to the same genre — they clearly don’t — but because of their visual identity, atmosphere and strong characters. In Euphoria, she loves the cinematography, editing, colour and experimentation with analogue film. Big Little Lies and Yellowstone draw her in through their atmosphere, landscapes and characters — people who change, contradict themselves, grow, fail and sometimes remain exactly who they are. That is also what interests her about wedding films. A beautiful image matters. But the people inside it matter more.

Editing for Alisa is another form of writing. She looks for relationships between moments rather than simply arranging a wedding chronologically. A funny reaction can sit next to something deeply emotional. A seemingly insignificant shot can suddenly explain a character. A quiet moment can sometimes say more than the ceremony itself. She believes a wedding film can make you laugh without losing its emotional weight — and feel deeply without taking itself too seriously. The edit is finished when the idea she saw inside the material is finally visible on the screen — and someone else can feel it too.
